MEETINGS

At Moreland City Church our two main meetings are celebration services (held on Sundays) and small groups (held at various times throughout the week in homes).   Our aim is that all age groups (adults, youth and children) will have celebration services and small groups as the core of their ministry.

Celebration Services

Celebration services are a time for all the church's small groups to come together to worship God.   A range of things happen in celebration services such as:

  1. Getting together to encourage one another.
  2. Praising God through singing and music.
  3. Preaching and teaching.

(God willing, celebration services will begin in late 2008 (Matthew 6:10).   Our main meetings at the moment are the weekly small groups.   Details of future Sunday meetings will be passed on via our small groups and will also be posted on this website.)

Small Groups

Small groups (also known as cell groups or home groups) are a group of 3-12 people who meet together weekly in homes.   Many things happen in small groups such as:

  1. Prayer & Praise - we spend time with God developing a closer relationship with Him.
  2. Bible Study - we study and apply the Bible to our lives.  The Bible is God's main way of speaking to us.
  3. Fellowship - we spend time together and socialise, encouraging and building up one another.
  4. Evangelism - we share the good news of Jesus Christ with others.  Small groups are a great opportunity to discuss and find out more about God and the Christian faith.

Our small groups are led by leaders who are trained by, and accountable to, the church pastor-elders.  There are several small groups that meet weekly in and around the Municipality of Moreland that cater for youth and adults.
